Hello!!

I need to know is there a way when user enters a quantity to be added in cart and click Add to cart, it should not be added to cart if the quantity is greater than stock quantity. It should work this way but in my case when i add the product with greater qunatity than what i entered in stock quantity, product is being added to cart. I have all the products as variable products(have 3 variants each).

Please help!!

Regards,
Nauman Ali

Hi,

Yes we support validating the stock quantity when a user attempts to purchase, todo this you need to ensure you have entered stock levels (you can enter stock levels at a variant level if you wish). Once you have done this you need to go to store admin -> store info and ensure the "Product's Behavior" field is set to "hide quantities, links and buttons".

We have actually just fixed a bug in this, so I would also recommend upgrading to the latest version:

Hi!! Thanks. That setting in store admin solved the problem.

We are importing products through CSV. Can you please tell if and how we can set the variant's quantity in CSV import? Manually it'll take alot time to enter quantity of every variant of all products.

Best Regards,

Hi,

We dont support importing the product inventory information via the CSV import, however we do support importing this data via store admin -> import / export catalog via an XML file. What I suggest is exporting the data so you can see how the file is structured, then modifying it so you set your stock levels then re-importing it.

Good Day!

Thanks for explanation. But that is still achievable if we give Main Product's (not its variant) stock value
in  CSV in "StockQuantity" column. Its not excatly that thing but it'll work the same way. Am i right?
