I have been using CV for quite a while now and since the last update to 3.8.2, users don't get registered on the site. Normally when a user purchases a club membership they get registered and have a membership role assigned that expires in 365 days. Since the update the user completes the purchase and I see that the order is updated to paid status and emails are sent with the order confirmation and details to users and myself. This sites DNN version is 9.1.1 and has had no issues with this in the past. I did verify that the product item settings are still to add member role for the specified number of days.

If anyone has any ideas would be appreciated.

Robert

Hi Robert,

In your scenario do customers make purchases anonymously and you have the setting "Auto Create Anon User Account" enabled so Cart Viper would make the customer a DNN account or is this setting disabled and they would register for their DNN account using the standard register feature?

Hey Nigel,
Not sure where that setting is But have not changed it from initial install years ago. So far it has only happened to two customers who told me that they just closed the PayPal page and did not click the Return to Merchant link. Would that make the difference?

We prefer to have everyone who purchases something to be registered on the site.

So dug deeper and Guest checkout was enabled and create anon account was off. So I unchecked Guest checkout and left Anon unchecked. With it this was the user is forced to create an account if not already logged in correct?

Hi,

Yes those are the settings you want, by allowing guest checkout a user could make a purchase without first having to log into your site. If they then made a purchase in this manner we would not have a DNN account to assign the DNN roles that are associated with the product they have just purchased, this would seen to be what happened to the orders you mentioned.

Regards
