I have two catalog modules on my site. Both are set to NOT show product detail pages. In fact, their settings are almost identical except for the default category they show.
One behaves as I want which is: from the Product List page, the user can directly add the product to their cart. A modal popup confirms this.
The other page seems to have identical settings, but from the Product List page, the user selects the Add to Cart button and it goes to the Product Details page with NO contents where the details normally go.

What setting must I be missing here?

Without seeing the URL's of the two pages and actually clicking on the products in question its difficult to say, but from reading your other posts you have created a number of products with mandatory variants?

I would imagine the product that is taking you to the blank product details page has mandatory variants and the one that is adding to the cart does not. By default we do not include the token [PRODUCTVARIANTS] on the template ProductList.htm. So we are taking you to the details page as the user needs to make a selection before the product can be added to the cart, it is blank as you have it configured that way in the cart viper catalog module settings as you mentioned.

What I would suggest is updating the above template to add in that token, so the variants are outputted on the product list page and see if that resolves the issue. If that does not help can you provide the URL to the page in question and the product name that is not letting you add directly to the cart?

It did not have any variants, let alone any mandatory ones.

I noticed something however, that may be the biggest difference. I was in the Languages area updating some local resources. Under AjaxAddToCart.ascx it has one that says "This product is an event and can only be added to the cart by using the product details page."  The difference between those pages is that. One that works right has products, the other has events. So, it is MANDATORY that all events, regardless of the settings MUST show the products detail page? Is there a way around that?

Hi,

Can you download and install the latest version, note click repair install when prompted by DNN:

http://www.cartviper.com/free-trial

Once installed can you add the token [EVENTDATES] to the ProductList.htm, we have just made the change so that events can be added to the cart from the product list page.

I downloaded the update but it's still not adding directly to the cart. Does it matter that I'm using a customized template for the Product List?
