Hi team,

One of our stores is for digital downloads only, during checkout all we really need from the customer is name and email address, we don't want them to have to fill out all their address details. Is there a way to customise the required fields in the checkout? I thought UIBillingAdressLayout might have something to do with it but have edited with no luck. We are using 1 page checkout if that matters

Thanks

Charles

Hi Charles,

When using the singlepage checkout if the customers cart only contains digital downloads we should hide the shipping address and shipping options , however the billing address will still remain as the customer will need to complete this so we can send the details to the payment gateway you are using.

The template you mention is used to format the addresses in the pdf, email and various order details page not the actual address fields that are requested.

Thanks
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

Sounds like this is a bit of a special case then because no transaction actually takes place through the store. Downloads are offered free via a pre-paid membership scenario and then users can log in and use the store to complete the downloads, at checkout no transaction is made so there is no need for billing information, we just want the user to confirm their email address

Thanks

Charles

Hi Charles,

Ok I see, in that scenario we could write something custom that hides the billing / shipping address and just outputs the fields for the name and email address. If you would like to email me we can discuss it in more detail: nigel@cartviper.com

Thanks
Nigel.
