Hello..
We have some custom SQL scripts and other things which gather the order detail attributes so they can easily be mail-merged into a word document.  Column convert to XML, take the variant names, and format for XML properly then split the XML into separate fields for the mail merge.

The issue is that there are two fields in orders variants which aren't required fields; I tried to make them as such and there were complaints about it.

But since they're not required, the final value within the CVStore_OrderDetailsAttributes.Value listing messes up the mail-merge since some orders have them, some orders do not.

Is there a way to make it an option so that if a value isn't entered for a variant, the variant and a value of "NONE" is entered in the CVStore_OrderDetailsAttributes.Value column?

Thank you for your time and attention..

Hi Jeff,

The issue being we output all the variants that are listed in that field within the store, so if we added each variant with "none" as the value for any variant that was not selected we would somehow need to filter these out. Also makes it tricky as some users may have "none" as a genuine value for their variants.

Making them a required field does seem the most straightforward option, failing that can you add in any conditional logic to your SQL to check for the existence of these variants and if not manually insert them so the mail merge would not fail?

Regards
