When a guest is ready to check out, they see this:

But there is no "proceed to checkout" button and no button to create an account. I tried to even change the wording of this so people would know to just click the red checkout button ABOVE that message, in the Language Editor : CustomerCart but it didn't change the message.

What settings do I have wrong here?
I also am trying to use the single page checkout, but this appears to be the 3 step checkout. When I'm logged in, it appears as a single page, but not when I'm an anonymous user.
HELP?!

Its difficult to see from your screen shot but do you have products in your cart? If so that would explain why the "checkout" button is not visible, the only other reason we would hide it is if you did not have a payment gateway configured or had an invalid license. I've just checked your site and the last 2 do not appear to be issues. As we output the same message if you're not logged in and have / have not got items in your cart, I assume that was the issue as the message we are outputting does not accurately reflect what the user is seeing in those circumstances.

With regards the registration, originally you could register for an account in the same place as the login but we have since removed that feature and not updated the message accordingly. You can change the message by going to the Cart viper my account module settings and its in the field "Anonymous User Login Message".

As for going to the 3 step checkout when you are not logged in, as I dont have an account to your site I can only checkout anonymously and it took me to the singlepage. If you can replicate the issue can you send me an admin username / password so I can login and view your settings?

1. The Proceed to Checkout button still does not show up, but I changed the wording to
Click the Checkout Button above to continue as a guest.
or
Login to your existing account below.
So at least people will know what to do next. I found it in the Language Editor so I was confused and never looked in the My Account module! Easy enough!

2. It did after this checkout button was selected go to a single page checkout form for anonymous user. Not sure what settings I changed to make that happen because I was playing around quite a bit with it.

3. I noticed in my "store settings" that I still had my test domain as the website url, so that also may have contributed to the strange behavior. I fixed that, so I think we're okay now.

But this begs a couple more questions:
Can we turn off user registration completely? So it won't ever ask if you want to create an account? Or I could hide the login box with CSS.
And if we have user registration on for Cart Viper but the Site Admin Settings have "None" for User account settings, will it still allow user registration anyway?
And if we decide we DO want user registration, where can they sign up for an account then? Is there a link somewhere? Because they cannot create a user account with that screen, so where CAN they create one?

Accepted Answer
DNN handles all registration, so you would register using the standard DNN routine and in the same place that is configured for your site.

If registration was not enabled on your portal users would not be able to register, Cart Viper would not override that. We have defaulted our text to mention registering as most ecommerce sites would want you to, however if you're not wanting users to register hiding the login box with CSS should be sufficient as that would remove all our references to registering.
