Hello Mark and Nigel,

I’ve enjoyed our conversation via email and I’m making progress learning the cart.

Now for my feature request.

I created a Role (StoreAdmin) and set the cart “Manage Orders” and "Manage Catalog” to that Role. What I discovered is that a user in that role does not have access to all of the Store Administration Options which is not what I expected.

I don’t usually like to grant my clients Administrative access to their portal because it’s too much for most of them. I take care of the Administrative stuff as part of my service.

I would propose another level of access, say “Manage Store” that would give a user all of the options without giving them administrative access to the whole portal.

Thanks in advance for any consideration.

Hi David

I understand what you expect from the "Manage Store" role, its more a simplified store admin page which just allows the user to manage categories, products and orders.

Looking at the Store Admin page I would guess that the "Manage Store" would only have the the following options.

  • Coupons
  • Orders
  • Sales Stats
  • Reports
  • Categories
  • Products
  • Review

Would you agree with these options?

Regards

Mark

Yes, I think that would do it.  The remeining items won't concern the client on a day to day basis and if they need to change something in the store setup, I can handle it for them.

Perfect!
