When looking up orders, one of the advanced search fields is titled "Order Number", but the column displayed in the order list is titled "Order ID" when it should instead be called "Order Number".

However, the real "Order ID" column is also needed as an advanced search field since when orders are submitted for payment (e.g. PayPal), CV is only passing OrderID since OrderNumber does not get assigned until a successful order completion.

When researching a transaction in Paypal, sometimes the only reference to tie back to the order in CV is the OrderID and there is no way to search in CV by that value.  You can usually use the surname or e-mail fields to find the order, but sometimes someone uses a Paypal that is not the same name and/or e-mail address, so it does not make it easy to find the order in CV.

Hi,

The text is stored in the below resource file so can be updated:

DesktopModules\cartviper\App_LocalResources\DisplayOrders.ascx.resx

You're correct, we only assign an "order number" once the order has been confirmed from the payment gateway, up until that point we reference it using the "order ID" which is an internal value. We take your point and have added to our road map the ability to list the internal order ID in addition to the "order number" when viewing orders as an admin and add in the ability to search by the order Id.

In the mean time if you go to store admin -> store info -> general settings and select "enable none consecutive order numbers" that will mean the "order ID" and "order Number" will be the same value so you will be able to cross reference your orders without issues.

Regards
Nigel.
