hi,

I have the Cart Viper modules installed and am in the process of configuration. i'm a bit confused about how to proceed. The gentleman I'm doing this for previously had a site 9now down) using CataLook, which was far more than what he needed and was too complicated for him to manage on his own. The old site was configured in such a way that the system could capture an order along with contact &  billing info or credit card info. He and the customer would receive email notification of the order, he would go into the admin of the site, manually process the credit card and ship the order. Or, generate an invoice with requesting payment prior to shipment. He often has orders from outside the US and payment is accomplished via wire transfer. Tax & Shipping is added off line and the credit card customer is contacted with the order total $$ prior to Credit Card processing.

Can Cart Viper do this? If so, Could someone walk me through the configuration?

Hi,

For PCI compliance we do not store the users credit card information so a different method will need to be found to process a credit card. However what you can do is enable "offline payment" and require that orders require "moderation" that way when an order is placed the details will be captured and email to the store admin, who can then add in any shipping charges, tax cannot be manually entered it will be calculated based on the tax rules you specify in Cart Viper. Page 56 of our user guide explains this in more detail:

Thanks
Nigel.

Thanks Nigel,

I appreciate all the help. A couple more questions:

1) Is it possible to remove the dialog; Click "Proceed to checkout" to checkout as a guest. All transactions will be completed off-line so the merchant needs to capture contact info to relay shipping & tax and total invoice.

2) when I run through the checkout process (with only offline payment enabled) at the end I get a dialog something like " we can't delivery to your address. (I can go back and copy/paste exact dialog if needed) Does this have anything to do with not having any shipping options selected? If so, is there a way around this?

Mahalo,

Hi,

1) Yes if you login as an admin and navigate to the Cart Viper my account module, in the module settings you need to de-select "allow guest checkout".

2) Yes, what I would suggest is configure shipping to be free for the USA that way they can get past that screen and when you moderate your orders you can add in your correct shipping charge.

Thanks
Nigel.

1) accomplished. Thanks
2)Sounds fine. But:
a)what about international orders? (Of which he has many)
b)will there be a "free shipping" message? if so, can it be supressed?
